Achieving these requires a shift in mindset for facility operators who must adopt energy-efficient heating and dehumidification technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replacing pool dehumidification and climate control technologies is affordable when selecting efficient equipment that reduces energy consumption, making it financially viable in the short term.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5 KEYS TO SAVING ENERGY IN A HEATED POOL<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When we talk about heating a pool, we refer to two distinct actions: <strong>dehumidifying and heating<\/strong> the pool environment. Achieving this requires \u201c2-in-1\u201d technologies that perform both functions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dehumidifiers<\/strong> that maintain ambient humidity within regulatory and thermal comfort parameters. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/energia.gob.es\/desarrollo\/EficienciaEnergetica\/RITE\/Paginas\/InstalacionesTermicas.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RITE<\/a> (Regulations on Thermal Installations in Buildings), public heated pools must maintain an ambient humidity below 65%.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Heat pumps, boilers, electric or solar energy:<\/strong> their purpose is to heat the environment. According to RITE, public heated pools should be maintained at a temperature 1-2\u00b0C higher than that of the pool water, with a maximum of 30\u00b0C.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Various technologies are available to achieve this, but our recommendations are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>1. Technology focused on energy recovery<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We should move away from the outdated \u201cbrute force\u201d method using compressors to an <strong>energy recovery-oriented technology.<\/strong> This includes complementary active and passive dehumidification systems, providing the greatest drying capacity with minimal consumption:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Active dehumidification<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heat exchange and condensation in recovery units<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replacement with outdoor air<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>2. Heat pump: the best option for heating<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>heat pump harnesses natural energy<\/strong> (air, water, or earth) and transports it indoors to warm spaces.
