GAW heat pumps

GAW – Mixed Geothermal/Aerothermal Heat Pumps with Combined Refrigeration Circuit

The GAW units are combined aerothermal-geothermal heat pumps capable of producing DHW, heating, or cooling by using a geothermal well or outdoor air as the heat source. They are designed to make the most of aerothermal energy whenever possible to achieve optimal and very high efficiency, while conserving the energy stored underground. They are equipped with a highly flexible, custom-programmed electronic control system with web communication and Modbus.

COMPONENTS

  • A water-refrigerant exchanger that functions as an evaporator and is responsible for absorbing energy from the geothermal well.
  • A scroll compressor with a vapour injection system.
  • A refrigerant-water exchanger that functions as a condenser, transferring heat energy to the DHW storage tank and the heating circuit.
  • An air-refrigerant exchanger with a low-noise axial fan, responsible for transferring energy to or from the ambient air.
  • A highly flexible, custom-programmed electronic control system with web communication and Modbus.
  • The scroll compressor’s vapour injection system significantly increases the operating temperature range for evaporation and condensation, allowing more energy to be extracted from the air than a traditional scroll compressor even at lower air temperatures.
It also enables hot water to be stored at a higher temperature and includes a capacity control system to better match production to demand.
