Heat Pumps for Domestic or Commercial Geothermal Installations

GAW – Mixed Geothermal/Aerothermal Heat Pumps via Mixed Refrigeration Circuit

GAW units are combined aerothermal-geothermal heat pumps capable of producing DHW and heating or cooling by drawing heat from a geothermal well or from the outside air.

They are designed to maximise the use of aerothermal energy as much as possible to achieve optimal and very high performance.

They also aim to avoid depleting the energy stored in the subsoil.

They are equipped with a flexible, custom-programmed electronic control system with web communication and Modbus.

The GAW range of geothermal heat pumps includes:

  • A water-refrigerant exchanger that functions as an evaporator and is responsible for absorbing energy from the geothermal well.
  • A scroll compressor with vapour injection system.
  • A refrigerant-water exchanger that functions as a condenser and transfers heat energy to the DHW storage tank and heating circuit.
  • An air-refrigerant exchanger with a low-noise axial fan that transfers energy to or from the ambient air.
  • A flexible, custom-programmed electronic control system with web communication and Modbus.
  • The scroll compressor’s vapour injection system significantly expands the operating temperature range for evaporation and condensation, allowing more energy extraction from the air than a traditional scroll compressor even at lower air temperatures. It also enables the accumulation of hot water at a higher temperature and features a system capacity control to better match production to demand.

Borealis GW/GWr Geothermal Heat Pumps

The Borealis GW/GWr geothermal heat pumps are specifically designed for use in domestic or commercial geothermal installations.

The Borealis GW geothermal heat pumps are single-effect units, with the reversible version being the GWr.

These units are designed with the principles of operational safety, performance maximisation, and adaptability to installation needs: a single basic model can be enhanced with circulating pumps or sophisticated control systems.

Components of this heat pump range:

  • Refrigeration circuit with one or two hermetic scroll compressors and stainless steel AISI 316L brazed plate heat exchangers.
  • Housing made from oven-lacquered galvanised steel sheet with internal thermoacoustic insulation.
  • Enclosure design optimised to facilitate technician accessibility for maintenance.
  • Electrical panel equipped with circuit breakers instead of fuses for each motor.
  • Heat exchangers with low pressure loss and high efficiency.
  • Dual anti-freeze protection during production.
  • Control systems available in standard or full versions with custom programming, web communications, Modbus, and LCD graphic display.
  • Highly versatile hydraulic connections, with side (right and left) and top outlets.
  • Electromagnetic flow switches

GAW – Mixed Geothermal/Aerothermal Heat Pumps with Combined Refrigeration Circuit

The GAW units are combined aerothermal-geothermal heat pumps capable of producing DHW, heating, or cooling by using a geothermal well or outdoor air as the heat source. They are designed to make the most of aerothermal energy whenever possible to achieve optimal and very high efficiency, while conserving the energy stored underground. They are equipped with a highly flexible, custom-programmed electronic control system with web communication and Modbus.
