EBH – Air-to-water heat pumps for heating swimming pools

Borealis EBH heat pumps are specifically designed for heating water in swimming pools, indoor or outdoor.

They are optimized to achieve the best performance in this function. That is why the COP in standard conditions are around 5 and its SPF is much higher than 2.5 in any Spanish climate zone.

Description

High-performance air-to-water heat pump specifically designed for swimming pool water heating.

Structure made with oven-lacquered steel profiles. The enclosure for condenser and compressor compartments is constructed with aluminium profiles and lacquered galvanised steel closure panels with internal thermo-acoustic insulation.

Refrigeration unit equipped with scroll compressors in one or two refrigeration circuits, depending on the model. Coils made with copper tubing and aluminium-magnesium alloy fins resistant to corrosion. Titanium tube condensers with PVC housing for direct pool water flow, offering low pressure drop.

Independent casing allows the condensers to be installed remotely, creating a split unit (motor compressor + condensers).

Low-noise, high-performance axial fans with frequency inverter. Condensation pressure control via continuous flow variation.

Electrical panel with phase sequence detector, thermal-magnetic protection, and circuit breakers for each motor.

Direct digital control via PLC with remote-mountable control screen, equipped with Modbus and IP communication, and an integrated web server for control from a home network.

FEATURES

The Borealis EBH heat pumps are specifically designed for heating pool water, whether indoors or outdoors. These units are optimised to deliver the highest efficiency in this function, with standard COPs around 5 and SPF values significantly above 2.5 in any Spanish climate zone.

HEAT EXCHANGERS

The shell-and-tube heat exchangers (condensers) in EBH units are made of titanium + PVC, ensuring durability. This type of exchanger allows direct pool water flow, eliminating the need for primary-secondary systems in the heating circuit.

These exchangers also support high water flow rates, often making a bypass in the filtration circuit unnecessary.

CONDENSERS

The design of EBH units allows for remote installation of condensers in a separate enclosure. This enables installation of the motor compressor unit outdoors, while the condensers can be placed near the pool’s filtration system in the basement.

FANS

The Borealis EBH heat pumps are equipped with low-noise axial fans with an integrated frequency inverter, enabling continuous condensation pressure control. Optionally, they can be equipped with centrifugal plug-fan fans (EBC version, available upon request).

COMPLETE AND COMMUNICABLE CONTROL

The EBH units come standard with iPro control, programmed by Borealis for this specific application, integrating IP and MODBUS communication. It includes a web server with a page where operating parameters can be viewed and modified. It can be connected directly to the building’s router, with only the connection cable required, and monitored from any computer or mobile device (phone, tablet, etc.).
