AHUs – Air handling units

Borealis has incorporated comprehensive selection software for air handling units, allowing our sales and technical teams to design the appropriate air conditioners for their installations in the fastest, most precise, and complete manner.

Our range of air conditioners offers numerous integration and design options, including both standard and optional components. Basic configurations can be complemented with a wide variety of accessories, such as additional high-efficiency filtration stages, customer-selectable types of heat exchangers, adiabatic cooling modules, germicidal modules, etc.

Since its inception, Borealis has been known for its ability to adapt to the needs of its customers. Within technical feasibility, we can customise your order to meet your specific requirements.

Sometimes, modularity is insufficient to adapt an air conditioner to the space or other conditions imposed by the project. In such cases, Borealis has the design and manufacturing flexibility, as well as the customer service commitment, to create a bespoke design at a very low additional cost.

Optionally, our air handling units can be equipped with control systems based on DDC microprocessors that can communicate with the building’s BMS. We offer multiple standard control configurations, but Borealis can also provide custom programming to meet client needs at a very reasonable cost.

The casing of Borealis AHUs offers the highest standards of insulation, sealing, and thermal bridge protection. The sandwich panel is extremely compact but lightweight, with the insulating material evenly distributed within.

Fixed panels are attached without screws using gaskets that ensure superior sealing. This system also allows for easy removal if needed for specific maintenance.

The registers are sealed with high-quality, dual-edge gaskets. They open with double-action hinges that allow opening from both sides or complete panel removal.

The Borealis air handling units incorporate thermal bridge breaks in both fixed and accessible panels and the aluminium structure itself. The entire structure is thermally isolated.

The Borealis sandwich panels feature an epoxy-coated exterior and Granite HDX® interior lining, ensuring high corrosion resistance.

Borealis offers a fully lacquered interior option for the casing, base frames, and aluminium profiles. Additionally, closure panels can be manufactured in other materials, such as stainless steel or aluminium, with various types of insulation.

For years, custom manufacturing of refrigeration units has been one of Borealis’ strengths, and air handling units are no exception. We work closely with the client to address any unique needs for air conditioners used in applications beyond climate control (industry, food, laboratories, etc.), providing the best solution tailored to their requirements.
