The La Cebada Municipal Sports Center features 8 new ‘Borealis’ climate control units designed to provide climate control for both the pools and other sports areas. This is a municipal facility operated by the Madrid City Council located in the city center, in the La Latina neighborhood.

The CDM La Cebada is a completely new and recently inaugurated project in Madrid. The main goals when designing the climate control systems were clear: make this center an efficient and modern space. To achieve this, we have designed and manufactured 8 units with 4 main functions: 

  • Pool water heating: to meet this requirement, we manufactured 4 geothermal units, two GB-024s and two GB-115s, for direct heating of the water in the two pools. These units are equipped with titanium condensers, the best material for water treated with chemicals.
  • Dehumidification and climate control of the pool area: for this purpose, we manufactured an HRU-250-30 dehumidifier. The goal is to dehumidify and climatize the air in the pool area. The Borealis HRU range includes dehumidifier units for indoor pools, using a combination of passive and active dehumidification systems to maximize energy efficiency.
  • Climate control for the sports area: for this sports area, we designed and manufactured an air-to-air rooftop unit model ABCE-250-52 with an integrated high-efficiency static recovery system (74%) for 100% of the airflow. This ensures proper climate control for the multi-use sports hall at CDM La Cebada. The ‘Borealis’ AB system allows for units with variable airflow and power, designed for recirculation with mixing or 100% outdoor air systems. They can include various types of energy recovery units (static, rotary, etc.).
  • Air renewal: to ensure proper air quality and renewal, we manufactured two units: an ACE-10 for the gym area and an ACE-03 for the changing rooms. Our ACE heat pumps are self-contained units specially designed for thermal and, optionally, hygrometric conditioning of primary ventilation air. They feature a double energy recovery system (passive and active) and come equipped with inverter compressors and EC fans, making them especially efficient.
