Design of HEMC (High Efficiency Modular Container) for the “La Marañosa” Military Technological Institute (ITM).
A unique unit on the market that generates climate control and domestic hot water (DHW) with very high energy efficiency, resulting in significant fuel savings. This robust equipment is specially designed for disaster scenarios, armed conflicts, and other situations where fuel costs are high due to supply difficulties.
Project Completion: June 2012
Borealis, a company within Campos Corporación, has designed, patented, and manufactured the HEMC (High Efficiency Military Container), a one-of-a-kind unit on the market that provides climate control and DHW using both geothermal and aerothermal technologies with exceptionally high energy efficiency. This innovation leads to significant fuel savings and adapts to the extreme conditions present in conflict zones. It is specifically designed for natural disasters, armed conflicts, and other scenarios where fuel costs are high due to supply issues.
This plug & play system can start operating within an hour of arrival using aerothermal technology. Once geothermal or groundwater sourcing is established, the system autonomously selects the optimal mode of operation based on external conditions, demand, and available resources.
Work on this major project has already begun, and the first prototype is being evaluated with ITM experts in Madrid, aiming to achieve official certification for the project. So far, the ITM has received visits from a NATO Delegation and the Director of IDAE to review the product certification efforts associated with this program.
