Borealis Thermal Energy has manufactured 3 new ‘Borealis UV-BOX’ air disinfection units using ultraviolet light for the Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria Universidad Laboral de Albacete. The main features of these units are:
- Autonomous unit Borealis UV-BOX 030, suitable for rooms with a volume of up to 120 m³, consisting of:
- Cabinet made of anodized and oven-lacquered aluminum with wheels for easy transport.
- Low-noise fans providing an airflow of 300 m³/h.
- Internal lamp holder structure with two lamps of 75W each (individual rad. 25.5W).
- Electronic ballasts with lamp failure indicator.
- Electronic hour meter to monitor lamp replacement.
- Safety micro-switch.
- On/off switch.
- G3 filter at the intake.
- Approximate dimensions: 421 x 404 x 1,104 mm (width x height x depth, including wheels).
The IES Universidad Laboral de Albacete will install these air disinfection units using ultraviolet light in classrooms/workshops that, due to their location, have less natural ventilation and limited direct sunlight.
These systems complement other measures taken by school administrators to minimize, as much as possible, the potential risks associated with performing educational duties under current circumstances.
