Borealis Thermal Energy has manufactured 3 new ‘Borealis UV-BOX’ air disinfection units using ultraviolet light for the Faculty of Law at the University of Castilla – La Mancha in Albacete (UCLM). The main features of these units are:

  • Autonomous unit Borealis UV-BOX 030, suitable for rooms with a volume of up to 120 m³, consisting of:
  • Cabinet made of anodized and oven-lacquered aluminum with wheels for easy transport.
  • Low-noise fans providing an airflow of 300 m³/h.
  • Internal lamp holder structure with two lamps of 75W each (individual rad. 25.5W).
  • Electronic ballasts with lamp failure indicator.
  • Electronic hour meter to monitor lamp replacement.
  • Safety micro-switch.
  • On/off switch.
  • G3 filter at the intake.
  • Approximate dimensions: 421 x 404 x 1,104 mm (width x height x depth, including wheels).

The Faculty of Law at the University of Castilla – La Mancha in Albacete will install these air disinfection units using ultraviolet light in classrooms and common areas that, due to their location or use, have less natural ventilation capacity, limited direct sunlight, and/or higher occupancy.

These systems add to the other measures taken by the Faculty of Law administrators to minimize, as much as possible, the potential risks associated with performing educational duties under the current circumstances.
