NEW IN 2019 CATALOG: HRU – HIGH-EFFICIENCY HORIZONTAL SELF-CONTAINED HEAT PUMPS
The Borealis HRU range consists of dehumidifying conditioners for indoor pools, which use a combination of passive and active dehumidification systems to achieve the highest energy efficiency.
These are direct-expansion air-to-air heat pumps with static and refrigeration energy recovery through their regenerative circuit. HRU units are known for performing dehumidification through three different and complementary systems: active dehumidification, thermal exchange in the heat recovery units, and outdoor air replacement. The combination of these three systems provides a high drying capacity with minimal consumption.
Borealis offers several ranges of dehumidifying heat pumps for indoor pools with capacities from 4 to 140 kg/h, suitable for homes, small spas, and high-power machines for public pools. In all cases, Borealis dehumidifiers are efficient and robust machines equipped with the latest energy recovery and saving technologies, as well as an Internet-enabled electronic control system for cost-effective remote management.
INDOOR POOL DEHUMIDIFICATION CALCULATOR
In response to the lack of updated software for calculating indoor pool dehumidification needs, Borealis has developed an online application that helps perform these calculations easily and in accordance with current regulations. It also includes a tool for calculating pool heating requirements.
The calculation results can be exported in PDF format, making them easy to incorporate into dossiers, projects, etc. The application is completely free and access can be requested via their website.
INTERNATIONAL MARKET
Borealis machine exports have increased in recent years, thanks to high demand in various Latin American and Middle Eastern countries. Our systems have been chosen primarily for the climate control of hotels, thermal complexes, and hospitals.
A notable example includes a high-efficiency dehumidifier HRR-33 installation at Waynay Killá Spa in Argentina. This example reflects the trend shift toward energy efficiency now being experienced in the country.
The company also has strong commercial ties in Qatar, where it recently supplied several dehumidifiers to Qatar Airways for their Oryx International School. We are now an authorized supplier for Qatar Airways, allowing us to expand across other Gulf nations.

Sometimes installation requirements are challenging to meet with existing standard market equipment. In such cases, Borealis designs and manufactures custom refrigeration and climate control equipment tailored to customer needs and perfectly adapted to the installation. The reasons may vary:

The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has awarded Borealis Energía Térmica a new recognition for its work in Research, Technological Development, and Innovation (R&D+i).
This recognition, called the “Innovative SME” seal, officially certifies the group’s commitment to innovation. Currently, over 2,000 companies are included in the Registry of Innovative SMEs.
